3 Must Have Pieces of Clothing

Feb. 02, 2016

I’ll dive right in to my 3 must have pieces of clothing. They are versatile, neutral and can be mixed and matched with just about anything in your closet.

They are:

  1. Chambray Shirt– My Favorite is this one from J. Crew. They are famous for their chambray shirts!
  2. Puffer Vest– Again J. Crew and or J. Crew Factory is the puff master. If you didn’t know, J. Crew has a more price friendly cousin called J. Crew Factory it is online or outlet malls (LOVE THIS PLACE).
  3. No Fuss Skirt– Again, J. Crew Factory! This skirt is the perfect length, vibrant color or neutral options and lined. I size down because of the elastic waist.
Chambray Shirts– This shirt can be worn with black jeans, dark blue denim for a contrasting denim on denim look, or with just about any skirt.  They make a great base for layering from fall, winter and into spring. Put it under a blanket scarf, chunky necklace, under a vest or jacket or over a t-shirt. The possibilities are endless on this one!
Puffer Vest– These bad boys have been popular for a good 5 years now. Again they are perfect for those crisp fall nights, layering under a coat during winter and transitioning into spring. I have about five of them! They come in every color of the rainbow usually but tend to sell out quickly.
No Fuss Skirt– These elastic waistband skirts are a gift from the J. Crew goddesses! If you don’t like your waistline, it gives you the illusion of a waist because of the elastic, if you have wide hips (a la me) it has just a super slight flare to give you some thigh and booty room.  I have one in navy, light pink, red, and camel. I pair them with a laid back t-shirt and flats or sandals, throw a blazer or trench coat over one, add a silk top and some heels to dress it up for the night.  My favorite is that in winter the material is wool and in summer they cross over to linen.
