Anti Redness Skin care featured by popular Houston style blogger, Haute & Humid

This post is near and dear to me because I’ve been living a skincare nightmare over the past two months.  My face became so red and inflamed that when I woke up in the morning my face felt like it was on fire.  I tried to take care of the problem myself and this only made things worse #notanaesthetician.

My Skin Type

Let me start off by telling you about my skin.  I have dry sensitive skin that gets oily in the T zone.  The redness tends to flare up on my cheeks, around my nose and my chin.

Causes Of Flare Ups:

-Retinols

-Clarisonic

-Exfoliating scrubs

-Harsh Cleansers

-Dehydration

I started drinking a LOT more water and quit using all of the above products.

Nightly Anti Redness Skin Care Routine

Anti Redness Skin Care Step 1: Double Cleanse

First I wash my face with either this balm or this balm.  Next, I wash my face AGAIN with this cleanser.  Double cleansing ensures all of your makeup and bacteria is washed away from your skin.  This also allows your skincare products to work more effectively.

Anti Redness Skin Care Step 2: Redness Relief Serum

This serum has been a HUGE step in keeping the flare ups at bay.  It instantly soothes my skin and I can see the redness disappear almost immediately.

Anti Redness Skin Care Step 3: Eye Cream

Dab a small amount of this eye cream around the bottom of your eye.  This helps keep my under eye area really moisturized so my concealer doesn’t look flaky.

Anti Redness Skin Care Step 4: Moisturizer

This moisturizer is designed specifically to calm redness.  It also hydrates my dry skin and leaves it soft and flake free in the morning.

Anti Redness Skin Care Step 5: Night Mask

This is an optional step but to help with dryness I use this overnight mask 1-2 times a week.  After I cleanse I apply all the steps above and then a thin layer of this mask.  I let it dry for 7-10 minutes before laying down.

Do you ever go back to retinols/Clarisonic? This describes my skin to a T. I’ve actually had doc say I had rosecea, sebhorreic seem and eczema on my face. It really just seems that my pores hold on to those dead akin cells and adding a toner helped…..BUT, I’m still red af. People usually think I’m sunburned.

My aestetician said to stop the Clarisonic but use an enzyme such as Exfolikate once a week to take off dead skincells. I am also really getting into using Colleen Rothschild cleansing balm and the white cloth it comes with to lightly exfoliate. I also started using her Renewal Cream and it has changed my skin SO much. My friend let me borrow hers one night and I bought it first thing in the morning. My skin was actually soft and smooth. Also check your toner and make sure it doesn’t have alcohol in it. That can be really drying.

I’ve been stuggling with the exact same thing! So glad you did this post. What do you use in the morning?
    Thanks!

In the morning I rinse my face with cold water and then I use some of the R Relief Serum and Colleen Rothschild Sheer Renewal.
